New guy! Already modding, here are the first two things I did this weekend.

Hi all! FNG here. I bought my 2004 FJR1300 on Thurday. It's raining here all weekend so I got some things sorted.

Here is the bike.

I got started by fixing the glovebox. After reading and looking at what was there I decided to put the spare lock on the lid instead

Slot for lock

I also installed a powerlet for charging.

Oh, I know. I ordered 2 sets of the Easter Beaver 3 circuit fuse blocks. Going to put one set on the FJR and one on the 919. Also ordered the Apollo heated grips. 919 is Heavily modded.

Hey, nice idea with the 3rd lock cylinder!!

Not sure if the PO already did it, but you can ditch the solenoid that is supposed to require you to put the bike on and in neutral, then the box can be opened easier any time. The solenoid latch doesn't prevent the box from being opened if you pull hard enough on the lid, anyway. I'll bet your key latch will be much more secure

Always had a soft spot for the 919. I almost bought one back in 2002. But the wife looked at me after I test drove the 919 and the FZ1 and said: "You're trying to convince yourself you like the 919. But you came back from riding the FZ1 with the biggest grin on your face. What does that tell you?" I bought the FZ1. Still have it, still ride it!

I like your powerlet mount. I have a Gen2 and would really like to install a pair of posts or a high current connector on that panel with short AWG 6 welding leads connected directly to the battery. Leads through which one could jump start the motorcycle. The panel is kind of flimsy, though, and I'd hate to have the posts exposed. I've thought about a sealed, sunken well with easy access. Anything would be better than the moronic FJR Gen2 battery access.
