It's time for a new helmet and I am looking before everything goes on sale

I am currently very interested in the Schuberth C5 but I have concerns about mounting my Sena 30k. I verified the Schuberth speakers that come with the helmet can be removed but I cannot find any references for someone mounting an external Sena.

So my question for the group is; Can an external Sena device be mounted on the C5? If so, How?

Requirements
Quiet
Hi-Viz
Mount external Sena
Modular (desired not required)
Under $650 US

Other helmets under consideration: (not endorsing Revzilla, just a good reference site)
Bell Qualifier DLX MIPS Helmets
Scorpion EXO-AT960 Topographic Helmet
AGV Tourmodular Helmet
Nolan N100-5 Consistency Helmet
Shoei GT-Air 3 Helmet (if sale price drops to $650)

Have you tried the fit on a C5? My impression is that it is more round than oval. What helmets have you owned previously that fit well?

Last year, I purchased a graphic Neotec-3 from Motostorm in Italy for $660 delivered to my door. Prices have gone up a little since. If you're open to overseas purchase, they are an alternative to ridiculous US pricing.

+2 - just made an order. Graphic Neotec3 for $665 shipped is a smoking good deal. I got this one:

Shoei Neotec 3 Grasp Tc-5 Helmet White Red

My old Neotec 1 is pretty long in the tooth. On its second set of interior pads and face shield, so overdue for replacement. Figured I’d better get a new one ordered before the tarrifs kick in.

I have a long oval head and the C5 is the best modular helmet I have found. Far better fit than the Neotech for me but now as quiet.

Yes the Sena can be mounted on a C5 Schuberth helmet. I just mounted a Sena 60s to mine. I used the tape mount. Pretty sure you can do the same with earlier model Siena’s. Just remove the spring clip and apply 3M tape to the back of the mount.

The slit I did with a dremel when I had the J&M BT04 headset on the helmet. With the headset mount now on with 3M tape I use the slit for ty wraps to hold the wires where I want them, and the other holes I drilled with an 1/8" bit to use ty wraps to hold the mic in place. Some LD riders use 3M dualoc tape so they can switch between different headset mounts.

Helmet fitting is certainly important. I can't get excited about tunes, but it's your call, there.
MIPS technology can be had in many brands of helmets, I think that MIPS can be retro-fitted into most helmets, but only as a DIY mod so far. You should check out some of the other new helmet technologies:
Koroyd
Fluid pads
6D
KALI Fusion
To me, the best protection for your one-and-only brain is the 6D technology. I regard MIPS as a great start, as the low bar to clear, and the rest are only better. Price can be a real factor, though. None of the high tech helmets will be on sale cheap. I believe that price is maybe the worst of considerations, in buying your head protection. YMMV.

i have several helmets. every day 2 hours ride work home. and if it rains hard( in Belgium that happens) sometimes the helmet isn't dry in the morning.
due to my big head ( 65cm) the choices are limited . the nolan hurts after 20 min
the shoei are ok , but much noise
the schuberth is the most comfortable, if you close the screen as it should. i miss the little nose cap inside, but no cold wind on my neck
in all helmets, i bought the sound system that i can integrate in the helmet. fort the schuberth, it is the sena sc 2 if my memory is correct.
not cheap, but the quality is phenomenal. i can even listen to classical music when ridding

no one of these helmets is 100% waterproof

I can't speak to the C5 directly but, I recently purchased a C3 Pro and installed a Cardo PackTalk Edge. It was a much simpler install than my Nolan N100-5/Cardo PackTalk Bold installation. I used the stick on mounts in both cases and I like to have the earspeakers as close to my ears as possible for better bass response and noise blockage. I have the 45mm JBL speakers installed and it works wonderfully! I'll call the install pretty dang easy but, I've done a few now.

Shoei 1400 for me. Next to Arai, the best protection and fit, quiet, comfort. No other will do. I have two.

Just throwing this out there: I have a Nolan N100-5 Consistency new in the box that I would be willing to part with if you decide that would work for you. It's a 2XL (yes, I have a giant, oval head) so, that may or may not work for you.

Hi, I’ve moved from Shoei and Aria onto an LS2 modular type and found it to be great. Very comfortable and quiet, it has a tinted internal visor operated by a slide notch on the bottom edge of the helmet. It also has a front lock that allows the bottom chin bar to flip over to the back of the helmet if you want to use it it hotter weather, it rests at the rear so no wind noise from the bar in that position. On your question about your speaker internally, although mine is an older version they do have a new one that has the internal padding has a spot to hold speakers. Hope that helps, and right now I think that Revzilla has some on sale.
Hope that helps, Mikesgts
