Hello all,

I'm in the Piedmont area of NC and, after a couple of test drives on FJR's this past summer, I am hoping to find a Gen II this Fall/Winter. My brain says 2008-2012, my budget says 2006-2007, my heart says 2007 (love the black cherry)... I have been lurking on this site for a good while now and am inspired but the amount of resources for folks like me who are new to the FJR.

Also, if you are an FJR owner in the WS/GSO/HP area of NC and wouldn't mind chatting about your bike and experience with me, please PM. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum James. What have you decided?:)

LOL Well, so far I've watched two bikes I liked sell before I could even investigate and I've made two offers that were pretty much laughed at

At any rate, I'm pretty confident my next bike will find me but I think maybe it needs to get colder for things to shrink closer to my budget :p

IMHO, I would only get an 2009 and later. In '08 they improved the ABS brakes, and in '09 they went back to the original clutch slave cylinder with a lighter clutch pull. But 2012 is the truly best vintage of Gen II as that is the ONLY year produced of Gen II where the spider bite defect (ground wiring issue) was fixed from the factory.

I still own an example of all generations of FJRs and if it were me, I would hold out for a Gen III, 2013+.

RIP the dream... 😵‍💫 Thanks much for the input but with everything we have going on here for the foreseeable future, I don't think I'll be able to allocate enough for a 2013+ but I do understand the pitfalls of earlier models.
