Gig's this Saturday night ... hopefully, ready for public consumption. "Paradise Key" (restaurant/bar) at Key Allegro Marina, Rockport, TX. Starts around 6:30 out on the back deck over-looking the boats. Still lots of prep ahead before Sat. Didn't get to all the request here but did get a bunch of tunes ready. Got some friends saying they're showing up for support. Should be a fun night.

Did good. All in all, it was quite a challenge as the sprinkles of rain were keeping me from getting started up. The owner and staff were top-notch and then finally relocated me under the awning which was where it should have been set-up in the 1st place. The owner said there were lots of compliments not only for the music but for the song selection. I did some new soft jazz stuff, three tunes in a reggae style with steel drums, a couple of country tunes, lots of blues and the nostalgia rock. Got a request for the Doors and repeated Light My Fire. Am planning on sequencing "Riders on the Storm" maybe this week. At least one or two new tunes a week. AND, have a booking scheduled back there this coming Friday. A girl that followed a band I was in back in the early 80's, found me on myspace about a year ago. She saw I was playing this first gig and her and two girl friends drove from San Antonio and made a girls weekend in Rockport just to catch the gig. Pretty awesome seeing her after 20+ years. Already have a following. LOL. She remembers my checkered vans tennis shoes I wore in the band back then. Ha. So it's official, I have groupies. Sure was fun (except for setting up and tearing down) especially seeing some friends there for support and meeting the new regulars that welcomed me. No one threw anything.
