Well, my wife did it. She told me it was about time I got a new bike. She went out and got me a 2009 A for my birthday.

Delivery is scheduled for mid March. Can't wait.

You're a lucky guy. My fiancée helped pick my FJR out. It was a toss-up between that and a ST1300. In the end she said "you'll look better on the Yamaha". Enjoy it and be ready to give your bank account a workout when you start with the farkles.

You will like it! I started out looking at cruisers, and bikes much smaller . . . and of course the salesman walked me over to the FJR when I described what I really wanted. Great salesman - a three hour visit with me. My very patient then-15-year-old told me later "That's the one I was looking at the whole time."

I'm from Quebec, in the Montreal area.

For the farkles, I already have a wish list but I'll hold until I ride it a bit.

Wish list includes windscreen, com system, saddle, etc. LOL

I see a very FUN Spring/Summer/Fall in your future for 2009, just to bad you have to wait till March to get it. WOW my wife got me a full sized mc lift for my birthday & I thought I was lucky!

Congrats - picked mine up on 5/30 after musing all winter on what to get.

Yes, my current ride is a 98 Concours. I got it 3 years ago.

as everyone else said "good job on the choice of wives". my wife got me an 08 for our 26th anniversary. she is German so it's not just the Canadian women. at least you have a few months to read up and order the must have farkles. i had an 02 connie before the fjr and there is no comparison in my opinion. this bike will amaze you.
