Looks like an updated Boss Hoss, complete with a pre-wrinkled seat. I talked to a Hoss owner once who said it sucked in the twisties, but it was full grin mode on straightaways. To me that would defeat the basic premise that bikes are most enjoyable in turns, but that's just my opinion. At a drag strip or as a coffee shop bike, it would be a conversation starter for sure.

Well, it has the power, torque, and suspension variables, but styling? It looks as though 5 different people designed different parts of the bike, without conferring with one another first. Of course, if you're wanting a V-8 motorcycle, styling probably isn't a major concern.

Was doing a little research on this rascal. This is definitely NOT a boss-hoss. Seems to be well engineered by some folks that know what they're doing. Counter rotating clutch and shaft drive for reduced torque reaction, a custom made V8 that reaches 10k RPMs... good grief. With top notch chassis design and Ohlins suspenders, they advertise that it actually handles. Ain't no FJR, but certainly a far cry from our American made standard car engines stuffed into a steel chassis desperately trying to hold the girth. The V8 bikes I've seen can all be labeled as "point and shoot." But this rascal looks to redefine this genre. Not priced and not yet on the market, but it looks promising. Wish them all the best in their persuit.

Appearance: I disagree with ya Lakeland:

The stylin' is looking good. Maybe the rear-end needs some work, but this is after all a prototype. I think they're on the right track. Not in my budget, but I'd like to see them make it in this business. Would love to see a couple around Daytona one day.

Did ya notice the VMax look to the tank accent/air scoops? Nice touch.

Me like.....[having misspent my yout with Chev and Chrysler V8's].....I always liked the idea of the Boss Hoss but not the hugeness of it. this is more like it.. Would that be a C14 final drive... and I guess if you have to ask $$$..

 
I must not be the target demographic for this, because all I can think of is "Why?" Do I need to turn in my Man Card because I think the FJR's 4 cylinders and 1298 cc's are plenty powerful enough?

Pre-wrinkled seat....LOL. I suspect the longer wheel base is to stop the creature from performing a back flip in 1st gear. Looks like it would be a blast to test ride. I rode an original V-Max. To me it was a good bike on the straightaways also. I wasn't inspired by its performance in the twisties.

You do not need to turn in any cards. I've always enjoyed a smaller displacement, lighter weight bike. Things like this don't appeal to me at all. And I think the Chevy powered cruisers are simply absurd.

But .... it's not all about me. What someone else rides doesn't concern me any more than what I ride should concern them.

Hey, does anyone else remember the Morbidelli V8?

 
Holy ****!! Did you guys hear that motor on the dyno? If for no other reason, I want one. That's not a huge 350v8, it's 2575ccs, and I'd bet works incredibly.

If I had the cash laying around, I'd do what I could to get one.

I already have an Aurora twin-cam V8 in the driveway. And it's FOUR liters!

Yup-coupla cherry bombs and you could drown out the Hardleys

Nice Olds engine-not quite the same as my '64 394 Rocket...I do think however that they put it in the wrong direction...

The Aurora was an Oldsmobile model from '95 to '03, skipping 2000 for some reason when they went through a Gen change. The Aurora forum calls the 95-99s "classics" and the '01-'03 Second-gen.

Engine is derived from the Cadillac Northstar engine, reduced from 4.6 to 4.0 liters by inserting thicker cylinder sleeves and making heads to fit. Externally the Cadillac and Aurora engines are identical and interchangeable, which is the #1 hot-rodding mod: find a 4.6 in a junkyard and go from 250 to 300 HP.

I described my car here back when I got it, because I was utterly astonished at the electronic complexity of it, along with the fact that 99.9% of the electronic stuff still works!

GM used the Aurora engine for several years in the Indy Racing League, producing 700 HP without turbocharging, and spinning to 10,500 RPM. GM used the Aurora 4.0 engine as the Northstar in their Cadillac LeMans Prototype from 2000 to 2002, with twin turbocharging.

Ah, now I know: thanks. I'm familiar with the Olds Aurora. Didn't realize the motor would have the name Aurora on it. Never made the connection. This is especially strange since this start up company calls this new from the ground up motorcycle the "Aurora Hellfire 0Z26 V8." So it's named after an engine that has been out of production for nearly 13 years? Now I'm wondering if he sourced these new engines from GM warehouses?

How else could he do this?

Maybe they're rebuilt Aurora engines.

Maybe they're not Oldsmobile Aurora engines at all, but simply borrow the name?

Just because the bike is called the Aurora doesn't mean the engine IS from the old Oldsmobile Aurora...
