Recusant Infidel
At the IMS in Long Beach (10 days ago) I filled out cards at vendors. Like most folks, I figure it can't do any harm - but I don't hold my breath waiting to hear that I won something.
Two days later I received an email from National cycle:
"We are happy to inform you that you name was drawn as the winner of a free VStream for your 2003 FJR1300."
Seriously?? I had to read it twice to believe it.
They wanted my mailing address so they could ship it to me.
It came at 1745 yesterday. Took about 10 minutes to install, looks great - looks BIG compared to the OEM "touring" screen which, in '03, was about the size of the "sport" screen starting in '04.
It is only 2" taller, but 7" wider at the top. Doesn't look like a barn door, just a bit less 'sporty'.
I took it for a test ride today and found the airflow to be smooth and quieter - even in the fully retracted position. Did I mention quieter?
No noticeable movement at freeway speeds, though I didn't have a chance to try it in 'dirty' air around 18-wheelers.
No matter what, I can't complain - it was free!
Happy Thanksgiving!
Gonna have to take a road trip to really test it out. Oh, darn.
