We're just up the road from your nephew Leskid - let us know when you're coming and we'll have an impromptu Okanagan get-together. Cowcop is in Kelowna and JMGriff is just across the lake!

One of the tools I'm using is to go and look at my gut in the mirror every time I feel hungry; the only way to really appreciate how ugly it is.
My "M&M diet" is based on a similar principle. Here's how my logic worked:

• I want a visual aid to show that I'm making progress toward my goal

• The excess body fat is going to metabolize too slowly to use a mirror as my visual aid.

• I figure that if I quit eating 3-4 hours before bed, my body will metabolize a little fat each day.

• I guess that volume of fat is a little greater than the volume of one M&M

• I bought a glass jar and a bag of M&Ms and I put one M&M in the jar for each night I stick to the plan.

I haven't changed any other eating habits.

Wish me luck and perseverance. :assassin:
Good luck!

You might want to think in terms of inches lost instead of pounds lost. Wrap a tape measure around the gut and record the girth.
Thanks for the input Joe. Will take any and all advice and hope for the best outcome possible i.e. a trimmer and fitter rider.

Great - I'll give you lots of heads-up and look forward to meeting all of you out there!

Okay, rogdeb: What did Old Michael do to you 2 this time to tick you off so much? Yellow Dome had to have done something!

- Ride 1000 mi a month on my bicycle.

- Crash less (I crashed 8-9 times last year and 3 of them were what I would consider "severe"). Bicycle crashes, not motorcycle.

That's pretty much it.

I wonder if bumping this will do any good...

Half way through January and how are we doing?

MEM-"new brain "?

Barb-"living my life"? There's a story there. Too bad we were so shy at CFR.

Wheat- riding any more this January than last January? There's a Popcycle Derby February 20.

The M&M diet is working. It's depressing to look in the jar and see so few M&Ms, but I'm a 1/2" skinnier! I'm in between belt holes now. Another two weeks, and I might be able to tighten my belt.

Brain is working a bit better lately. Won't make a repeat of 2009. Thanks :)

You GO Joe! If you're not weight training, start! Muscle is much more efficient at burning fat. Plus, it'll make you look hot ;)

Missed this attack. :aggressive: Thanky, Don.

Roger, you and the Debster can't help being polite and easy-going. Even to moi.

Have you family visiting again this summer? I LOVED hearing the stories!
