New zumo help

I just got a new zumo and I am planning on hardwiring to my Blue Seas Fuse Block. The power cable that came with the zumo has an inline fuse which I would like to eliminate. The positive on the harness appears to have a diode on either side of the inline fuse. Is this the case? I don't want to cut out any diodes out of stupidity. Has anyone here eliminated the fuse and, if they are installed, the diodes?

I assume you want to eliminate the fuse because you have one elsewhere. If that's the case, just replace the stock one with one bigger and use the correct fuse size elsewhere. That way the stock position one will never blow as the other should go first.

yeah,

I cut it off and wired to Blue Sea fuse block.

used appropriatge fuse in the BFSB.

I did not see any "diodes".

works great.

of course I just had to send it back to autocom for the Bluetooth "B" modification to use cable 1299; but now phone calls work great too.

I took a look at mine and see no diodes. Could you be mistaking the wire connections for a diodes? It's highly unlikely to see a in line on a wire harness. Polarity protection would usually be built into a unit and spike protection would be parallel.

Slice open the shrink tubing to be sure they aren't diodes if you are still uncomfortable.
