Hey Adam,

Has the irony of this all hit you yet?

You the truck driver riding biker goes down due to a truck and driver?

I mean, I mean, like what are the chances?

Hey, was the scotch any good?

Hey Adam, glad your ok and having a soft landing does help. Yes, the rear end gets very light on a non ABS feej, when you get down on the binders hard.

Good to hear your okay big guy... I would throw the blue beast in the **** box and get something NEW.. I have a cold glass of Kool-aid over here in Hooterville.... Would you take a drink??? Come on over, the water is fine... :dribble:

If I can help with your bike let me know.... Smitty
glad your ok it . On the darker side i bet bike meets have a super high crash to bike ratio .

glad your ok and your bike is relatively ok adam!

so how the heck is it no fault when the ********* with the hay truck blocks the road so much that you guys have to stop because you can't get by? i understand that he wouldn't be at fault for your loss of control of the bike, but this would not have happened if he wasn't blocking the whole road, right? i think he bears some responsibility here.

Adam,

Glad you're this was just a minor tumble. I thought I'd share your newest farkle (low speed stability enhancers) with everyone, make sure you post pictures once you get them installed!

That thing will never fall over once you get those training wheels mounted!

Glad your ok Adam.

It was a pleasure to have met you in the parking lot of the Brier.

Maybe some day I'll be able to ride w/you guy's at EOM. My conference schedule seems to get in the way each year.

HAY!.......................watch out for that truck

Seriously..................I'm glad your ok..................A couple extra scrapes to go with the one on the bottom of your new right foot peg.

Read a t-shirt while in WV last week, it said, scars are like tatoos..............only with better stories.

Glad yo have no permanent reminders to tell stories from this event.

I was really hoping for a crash-free EOM. At least you and the bike are relatively okay. I'm guessing Fencer is glad you were following a save distance behind.

well now that I am back to a computer....

Thanks for keeping my record intact.

Every EOM, someone in my group goes for a slide.

Yep, the ABS helped me stop in time or I would have been eating the side of a tractor, I got stopped with just a few feet to spare.

I have to say that I am now a firm believer in ABS!!!

Adam and I both commented at breakfast that morning how similar our bikes were and that neither had ABS!!!!

Except at the time I think it came out more like "We don't need no stinkin ABS"

I am a changed man.

I was third in line right behind Adam when we both saw the truck at about the same time.

Both of us instinctively hammered the brakes and both of us began to drift off the pavement.

You know that feeling when everything goes into slow motion, well, this was that and more.

Only because I was able to watch Adam (while in slow motion mode) and make the connection to what was happening to him with the inputs that I was feeling from my bike, as it was reacting the same, did I release the rear and modulate the hell out of the front.

Don't know how my mind was still in real time when my senses felt like they were in slow motion, that was some weird ****!!

I came to a stop less than 6" from his now downed bike.

All the while, I could see what was happening to Adam and I just knew I was joining him off that embankment.

I am looking forward to a new FJR with ABS.

Something that hasn't been said is how his boot was still under the bike as he was fully ejected right out of it, that was pretty crazy as well.

wow...

We share the same sentiments exactly on the ABS... I was a cheap ******* and didn't want to spend the extra $1100 for ABS... It seems like money that would have been well spent now though.

I am really looking to the 2010 FJR as being my new ride... Complete with ABS, 6th Gear, 200hp,projector HID headlights, ect :yahoo:

My daily commuter and utility bike is a Wee-Strom 650 without ABS.

After riding the Feej' for 5 days staight (with ABS), I jumped on the Wee and

WOOOOOOOOOH-NELLIE,,,,,,,,,,,,WHERE'S THE BRAKES??!! :eek:mg2:

I am of the opinion that introduction of ABS on motorcycles is probably in the top 5 w/respect to motorcycle advancements regarding safety. I will never own another motorcycle that's not so equipped. The guy I bought my 04 from had 2 FJR's, an 04 and an 05, the 04 had ABS the 05 did not...........I could have bought either bike for the same price......I opted for the 1 year older 04 because it had the ABS option................well..........that..............and it also had only 1200 miles on the odo. :)
