I check my plugs (ngk irridium) every 10,000 KM, so far I have 50,000 + Km on the same set and see no reason to replace them, the gap is the same and there is no fowling.

Out of curiosity I contacted NGK and was told the average service life for the Iridium plugs is 12k miles.

Don't let my 03 hear that. I run them at least twice that far.

I run the non-iridium plugs for 16k miles just fine.

Prolly run mine till the next rare earth metal shows up in a plug somewhere like Thorium Lanthanum or sumptin.

yeah, I put them in @ 12000 and didn't tell detect difference.

But you have to put some plug in, so might as well be the most expensive one ... works for me.
