I don't follow pro hockey, but I grew up with it, and I enjoyed watching a lot of last night's game. But with all the expansion in pro sports, teams seem to end up in some unlikely-sounding spots. I've always thought that fans who have to live through Pittsburgh/Toronto/Chicago/Buffalo-type winters were more deserving of a championship hockey team than ones in places like San Jose or Phoenix. PHOENIX?
You do realize that no pro team from Canada even made the playoffs?

Yet, Tampa Florida, Miami, San Jose, and Dallas all did?

Hey, I think anyone who can truly appreciate going indoors into a cold air conditioned arena to watch a bunch of guys on a huge block of ice deserve it. Around these parts, that sounds like heaven.

The Penguins pulled off a great win. What a series! Every game was a nail biter. Over 16,000 fans filled the Consol Energy Center to watch the game on the jumbo-tron. Thousands filled the streets downtown and the South Side to celebrate the the Stanley Cup victory. No property damage, no arrests. It's a Burgh thing. Me? I watched the game on my TV and celebrated by going to bed after watching some of the post game activities. It's a me thing.
