ouch
Spring has temporarily sprung in the north country. Yesterday I was able to get the bike out for a short run to check how the new farkles are working. After a heavy rain last night, the roads were cleared of winter debris. The temps were extraordinarily warm, and I just finished Lee Parks "Total Control", so I was feeling my oats.
On a local backroad I am taking an opportunity to stretch the Feejers legs a bit and feeling a bit like Freddie Spencer, because I read a book  . All of this adds up to being well in excess of the local speed limits - its at this point I see the state trooper coming the other way.
So here I am with my large butt hanging part way off the seat, the Feejer making wonderful music in the upper half of the rpm's, and of course the excess speed. Now this was a ticket, no doubt. I immediately scrubbed some speed and then braked quickly down to 30mph, and getting ready to pull over.
The trooper never even touched his brakes  :yahoo: I drove along at 30mph for several miles and he never came my after me, so then I went home at a more sedate rate. Don't know why he didn't come after me, not the norm for our state troopers. Maybe he cut me a break because it was the first weekend of decent weather in months, maybe it was the immediate slow down, who knows, but I owe him one!
