Those are the videos I like to see, no pain - just a bit of red face. Glad your friend snapped out of his funk in time, that could have turned out nasty real quick.

He's got a level head, great reflexes and bike control to be able to stay upright through that incident.

Glad all ended well.

Wow! All kinds of things wrong with that one. He's a VERY lucky man, especially that no cager was traveling in the opposite direction when he blew that yellow line.

First, Speed. Riding a late apex line would have helped greatly. Mashing the rear brake is such a Harley rider thing to do. :lol2: He's lucky he got out of that bad brake manuever when he did. Target fixation, big time.

A VERY lucky man, indeed!

Damn! Lucky guy. I also have a cruiser, and it is a different world from the FJR w/ABS in turns, but that was a pretty heavy footed rear brake maneuver. That big Oak tree was looking awful close.

It isn't often that so many things go right to have a happy outcome from a ****** situation.

I luv me ABS. Many times the rear brake isn't your best friend.

My second FJR has ABS and even though I practice panic stops, I am surprised at how many times my rear ABS kicks on in real life panic situations...even when I feel I'm just barely hitting it.

Glad the guy in the video didn't get hurt...and glad that I don't have video rolling for all my dufus/goober moments. :)

Very Lucky. It's a good example of teaching yourself new instincts like using the front break rather than locking the rear, moving your butt off the seat so you can get more cornering out of your bike and oh yea, not doing your squirl watching while your riding your bike.

I'm not sure if the stuff left on the road came from the side of the road or out of his shorts. May want to clean your bike off.
