Looks interesting Randy.

Seems they only make the Sport for the FJR? Or up to year 05?

I know I would try it if I need a shock just about any reputable shock maker is as good or much better than OEM, car or bike.

That was my thought, Lee. Just trying to find out if they are reputable as I never heard of them. Waiting to hear back from a friend in the UK to see if he ever heard of them.

Hi, I have a Nitron NTBKY10-S Sports Shock fitted to my '09 FJR. Works really well for me. You just need to make sure it has the right spring fitted and has the correct mountings for the FJR.

Nitron are a well known (in the UK) company and provide a back up service.

One of the advantages (for me) is that you can adjust the ride height.

Thanks for letting us on the other side of the pond know that the company is legit and has been around.

Including 70 British Pounds for international shipping it totals out at $673. Not a bad price at all for an essentially top of the line shock with remote reservoir and height adjustment.

+1 on the appreciation of the info on the company.

Note - the sport model is the only one available for the FJR per the ebay site and it doesn't have the remote reservoir, but, it does have ride height adjustment.

However, their website says other models are available and prices on the website are different. https://www.nitron.co.uk/nitron09/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=3_6_252

Sent them a message...waiting to hear back

If you do decide to go ahead with the E-bayer or Nitron direct just make sure you are not charged Value Added Tax at 20%

Thanks for clarifying that. In effect it's a very similar shock then to the Ohlins YA-036 that was to be had via group buy for not too long ago for $850.

Been thinking about a new rear shock. Would like to have the remote tension adjust, looks like it is an option, anyone know?

Dear Randy,
Thank you for your email.

Please note that we do not have a store on eBay. The listings you note are

not from Nitron.

Unfortunately the information on eBay is not correct; We do indeed do the

complete range of FJR1300 shocks including Sport (£295.00), Track (£429.00)

and Race (£475.00) + VAT (local taxation that would not apply if shipped to

the US).

All our shocks are hand built to order and will be built to your weight and

style; they take around 3 weeks to complete.

Shipping to the US costs £46.50.

If you require any further information or you would like to place your

order, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Which was followed up with the following when I requested permission to copy/paste to the forum

Please feel free to do so. If we have several orders to the US, we might be able to look at combining shipping and making it even more cost effective for you all.
Currency conversion, including shipping to US, using exchange rates at the time of the posting (changes constantly, so, could be off a few cents):

Sport (£295.00 + £46.50 = £341.50) = $563.15

Track (£429.00 + £46.50 = £475.50) = $784.13

Race (£475.00 + £46.50 = £521.50) = $859.59

NTR Sport - NTBKY10S

The NTR Sport shock has one damping adjustment and comes complete with spring. The single adjuster knob affects both compression and rebound simultaneously for simple setup making it a more road-biased shock. The shock features spring preload as well as shock length adjustment. It comes preset for damping and preload, and includes the bearing end spacers and preload c-spanner.

When ordering please include your weight in the notes so we can specify the optimum spring rate.

NTR Track - NTBKY10T

The NTR Track shock features independent compression and rebound damping knobs, making it 2-way adjustable for more advanced bike setup, ideally suited to mixed track and road use. This shock has a remote reservoir that is mounted by a 360deg swiveling hose onto the main shock body and reservoir canister.

The shock features spring preload as well as shock length adjustment. It comes preset for damping and preload, and includes the bearing end spacers, spring and preload c-spanner.

When ordering please include your weight and the bike's primary use (i.e. road and / or track) in the notes so we can specify the optimum spring rate.

NTR Race - NTBKY10R

The NTR Race shock is designed for more serious riders, and as such incorporates high and low speed compression control valves for further fine tuning of setup, perfect for race bikes and very high performance road use. As with the NTR Track, this 3-way adjustable shock has a remote reservoir that is mounted by a 360deg swiveling hose onto the main shock body and reservoir canister.

Thanks Randy, this is great info and even better pricing.

Sounds like what I may go with. My old shock will see me through this season, so I'll likely pull the trigger on a new shock in the fall.
