Nitrous on a busa? That would be interesting.
Lots of them. In fact some Busas have turbos and nitrous. ZX14s are climbing aboard also. Problem is as you increase the horsepower potential, you have to adjust for cooling, timing and beefier parts.

Do the bottles rub if the bags are on?
No, I purposefully mounted the brackets so they do not. The bottles are 11.5 inches. They do come close to your heel, but take the bags off and you can back them up if you'd like. A real stealth set-up would involve mounting them in the bags, which I considered, but then you have to disconnect the bottles to get the bags off. I considered different mounting positions, but decided this looks the best. You must also keep heat from the bottles as much as possible. I even considered mounting the bottles on the flat panels of the fairing (front of bike), but they wouldn't look as good. The bottles must be mounted pointed down unless you use siphons-then they would be mounted standing up.

Note the brackets and their locations-also, I altered the airbox. Due to the shape of the airbox and the nature of the intake tubes some of the nitrous will blast behind the tubes so I built a rubber gasket to fit over the tubes and block it to the airbox front. Sheetrock guys will note an old lipstick trick to mark the tube cut-outs (pattern). It is not meant to be air tight because the crank case breather (etc.) is in the top of the airbox. I am still deciding whether to employ the K&N filter in some way or ditch it and filter the intake (snorkle) tube or filter the square front of the airbox. Oh, farkle, farkle, all the day long...!!!!

Karmak: a bit off the subject, but I note that you've installed the Two Brothers Racing M5 V.A.L.E. slip-ons. How do you like them? How's the sound vs. stock?

I would wrap the bottles in a big Viagra wrapper! This thing is seriously wood-inducing! (maybe Red Bull would sponsor you if you wrapped them in their can-cover?

The sound is deep/mellow, but I felt a bit too loud for my liking so I installed the inserts that are also available and like that sound better (it drops the sound a few decibels).

no doubt. go to deals gap any weekend between may and september and i'd say you'll see at least one busa that's turbo'ed, on juice, and/or extended swingarm.

not very savvy here...
what does Nitrous do, and would WC install it on his bike?
Nitrous adds more oxygen to the mix, increasing combustion and therefor power. Kind of like a supercharger, but more simple/efficient.

I assume from the hardware in the pictures that this is a dry shot system?

Do you have colder spark plugs andor have you clipped your spark plug ground electrodes to help prevent pre-ignition?

True that nitrous has a higher percentage of oxyen compared to the normal atmosphere but unless you put exta fuel in with it to take advantage of that extra oxygen the power isn't coming from the extra oxygen.

Nitrous oxide (N2O) disassociates into Nitrogen and Oxygen at around 950 degreesF ...when combustion starts in the chamber.... and releases a shitload of energy in the process. That is actually where you are getting the extra power from, particularily witrh a dry shot system.

Most authorities consider nitrous oxide a pretty stable and benign substance but the fact is that it contains a trremendous amount of energy and that energy is released when the nitrous dissassociates inside the combustion chamber and is a major source of the added power.
