So how do I put these on?

I have the mirrors off and I tried sandwiching the mounts between the mirror and stock rubber gasket. That won't work because the nuts only catch like 2 threads on the studs. If I leave the gaskets off the brackets won't fit over the metal inserts on the bike.

Any help?

I got mine today also. I have an '06 and

had no problem putting them on.

I put the bracket between the mirror

and the rubber mount. Had plenty of thread

that it went out of the nut.

I've only got 1 maybe 1.5 threads before it bottoms out by hand. That's not even enough to risk putting a wrench on and stripping the studs.

Was I supposed to do something with those steel spacers that were in the little bag?

Who the hell knows with no frickin instructions!

First - THIS ONLY APPLIES TO GEN II BIKES ! If you have a Gen 1, you do not need the spacers.

The steel bushings have to be installed in order to increase the number of threads available to the nuts -

First, you remove the mirror, and then remove the rubber 'gasket' that holds the stock spacers.

Then you take the gasket assembly with the stock spacers -

Remove the stock spacers, and replace with the provided spacers.

Then clip off the little rubber pegs on the gasket, or you'll never get it back in -

Re-install the gasket into the fairing -

And now there's enough threads exposed to properly install the nuts. I would suggest using a little dab of blue Loctite -

Others....well we'll give you the benefit of the doubt on being non-supportive to the Group Buy and assume you forgot a smily with your sarcasm. <_<
