Can you spell s-a-n-d-w-i-c-h? I used to work for Mamy Yamy many moons ago. Did a National Sales Promotion progrm out of college called Learn to Ride (LTR) which later evolved into Dirt Days - the stories I've got tell about that experience - incredible!

All right York, you always had a big mouth,

nows the time to use it.

Girl on right looks a jailbait w/ makeup.

The girls are cute, but a better incentive for me to work in Cypress would be a nice employee discount.

OK MikeyP - just for you (my reputation preceeds me?) Here's one of the best - the names and places have been changed to protect the innocent, oh thats right, there wasn't anyone who was innocent. I was recruited by Yamaha right out of college at the tender young age of about 23 to work on a National Sales Promotion called 'Learn to Ride' which later developed into a much larger program called Dirt Days, which were held in as I recall about 10 major markets across the country. 'Learn to Rides' were mainly held at college campuses and were of a pretty small scale, however the program evolved to the 'Dirt Days' event in it's last year and as I recall we had a budget of something like a few million or so for the year. The Dirt Days events were held at National Fairgrounds or Raceways and were large events. In a weekend we could/did have as many as 10,000 -15,000 people attend (Detroit 1974 or 75). We would have 200-300 motorcycles (up to generally 175's) at the event each with an 'Instructor' (ie - a customer willing to devote his weekend to the 'show' which they gladly did) supplied by the local Yamaha shops. People would attend and ride a bike, or learn to ride a bike in different riding environments such as learn to ride area, trail riding area, trials area, chappy area (mini bike), BMX area, etc. Also on the track the qualifed(?) riders could demo the full line including the XS 650's. We would have several EMT's and ambulances at each event and would keep them fairly busy (everyone would sign a disclaimer - I think they kind of meant something back in those days). We would also build an actual professional style motorcross track with jumps and hop-de-doos and would hold the finals of high schoolers motocrosses which were held in the weeks, months prior to the program, and award monies toward college scholarships for the winners. It was a pretty big deal all in all. Had 'King Kenny' as I remember at one of the events. We would also show the movie (16mm at the time) 'On any Sunday' continuously in a large circus type tent for the crowds viewing pleasure, it was one big party. There were two teams of 3 guys (of which I was one) who worked the event. The staging of each event would take us about a month, so we staggered them and attended each others event to help out the weekend of the actual event. So there was 6 of us (plus some corporate guys) at each event managing the show. Now to the good part, one of the things we would do a week or so prior to the event is go to John Robert Powers Modeling (I use the term loosely) School and hire basically every aspiring model/girl they had available (they had to be at least 18  ) for our event to work the front gate tables and the tables at each riding area, etc. The 50 or so 'girls' would report an hour or so before the event Satuday morning and we (the six of us) would line them up for their morning briefing. As you would expect some of the babes we pretty average, but some were 'fine' I believe was the term of the day. Now I don't have to tell ya, us 6 young California studs, managing this big time California program, with thousands of people filtering through, was pretty impressive to these young 'Kansas' girls. So consequently, WE were pretty impressive. So anywho, each of us guys during the briefing would divide up the girls and make our 'first' individual choice of the weekend for our 'personal assistant' who would ride around with us in our golf carts (we had to have a golf cart right?) managing the program. Now, this process might have repeated itself several times during the course of the weekend (choosing our 'personal assitants' as it were), if things didn't work out the way we hoped (they usually did however). The process repeated itself at least twice each weekend Saturday and Sunday mornings, although by Sunday morning we usually had our 'personal assitant' well in hand so to speak. Let your imaginations run wild - it was debauchery in it's finest hour, Caligula would have been proud, ah the memories!

(That's my story and I'm sticking to it unless my wife asks me.....or......)
