Post the ride up Barbarus! :D It will be a long ride for this Candy Butt Association rider, but I'll install the AirHawk air cushion, the lambs wool, and special seamless undies to make the looong distance of 70 miles to the moozeum... :)

Dcarver,

You are up near the that motorcycle museum in Solvang if I am not mistaken? What is a good time to bring a few FJRs and others up that way? We should meet up with you, maybe TWN and a few other Central Cali riders. Maybe after the holidays or in the middle of Christmas and New Years?

After the New Year for me. I'm off to Tucson 26th until Jan2... pretty much anytime after that until mid March...

Yeah, that works for me too. I have family in (wife's). As much as I would like to bail on them, my wife will not allow it.

All this talk of rides is making me drool :dribble: . I'm off work this week, the SUV that rear-ended me has my '03 in the shop for 2 months and the '07 I ordered is scheduled to be in this December and only 4 days left in the month. I'm climbing the walls. Let me out.

Peg,

Maybe time to rent a bike? Sport bike rental in Huntington Beach is pretty good. Don't have the link offhand, but remember being impressed with the selection. About $80 per day, pick up Friday Night and return Sunday night! Could try a few bikes that way and your insurance may even cover it?

Pegscraper, I was sorry to hear of your mishap. That's a heckuva way to replace the '03, but you're gonna love the '07. Besides, you two will look great on a red one! And now you can catch up on all the "projects" around the new place and be ready for the Spring riding season....oh wait, its always riding season down there. ;)

On my Calender. See you then. I ring tomorrow and we can work details.

Man, I've been so busy between work and school that I haven't been able to get out like I used to. But luckily my schedule is easing up some. Love to do some rides with you guys.

Here is one of my favorite San Diego routes

Link 1

I would love to join you guys but I'm in Italy now so the commute would be hell :dribble:

Enjoy!

Yeah, that's a regular ride I do all the time, basically my back yard. I live pretty close to Alpine in El Cajon and normally head out through Ramona on the 67, then to Santa Ysabel, Mesa Grande, pass Lake Henshawup to Palomar, back down through Julian, catch the Sunrise Highway through Pine Valley and back home through Japatul rd. That was pretty much my route this past Memorial Day. We are pretty lucky in SoCal with so many great rides and roads all doable in a day.

I love coming up Banners grade into Julian!

My FJR's previous owner turned me onto that road, he is from the Ramona area.

For those of you familiar wth San Diego I took the long way to work several times per month.

Left from Mission Valley near the stadium, took a route similar to my post above and rode sunrise highway as the sun came up down I-8 to Coronado Island.

Not the most direct route to say the least, come to think of it there were a few times I never really made it in to work...

I miss San Diego

Since my 'reports' are 'Images', that is where mine go. Besides, just how many times can we post-up about crappy roads like Hwys 36/96/299/245/120/88/120/49/229/33/2/58/etc, etc, etc, without peeps growing bored?
:dntknw:

By the way, I'm up for riding anytime. ;)
Um, Santa Barbara ain't SoCal. Sorry.... :no2:

Sadly, it is. I've tried to label it CenCal, but that just don't fly 'round here. ;)
