I've got both sides for sale. 14 grand. You get a scoot also. No warrantee. Ok....I've scuffed up the bags with my boots a bit. Close to 18 thousand miles on them. Don't worry...I haven't used any cleaning agents on them...as they haven't been washed.(neither has the scoot inbetween.
Does that include the bag liners?

 
Drill from the outside, bag mounted and firmly in place. Use 3/8" bit, and 5/16"pins. This is how I did it a year and a half ago. A little angle is fine. Center on the rubber pad mount, and have at it-easy to do, and the slightly smaller diameter pin makes for easy install/removal.
On mine, I used 1/4 x 2" pins and drilled 1/4" holes. It's a little harder to line up, but it doesn't move or rattle, as the rubber holds the pins snugly.
I used the same pins as Toe. He's right. Zero Slop, very tight and the pins go just below the frame so you're not drilling into it. and the rubber caps hold

everything nice and snug. It's the best way to do it. No brainer guys! It works Beautiful!! :lol:

 
+1 on the pins. :yahoo: It take a second to make sure that you're going to be able to line everything up correctly, but the peace of mind is worth the minimal time and cost for this upgrade even if you only ride with your bags on for the long trips!

 
For those of you worried abt losing a bag...remember the "No Bag Left Behind Fix?" Add the wire lock pins to the attachment thingy at the bottom of the bags.
Check with Toecutter also. Ask him for the pics of his solution to this ever happening again. Toe will NEVER loose a bag.

I used this approach on a recent trip with my daughter riding the FJR. I'm pretty certain I'd have lost a bag if I had simply relied on a 17 year old teenage girls ability to make certain it was secure. took me about 20 minutes to drill the holes for the pin (I did need a 12" extension for the drill bit) but it is probably the most cost effective farkle I have ever done.
