I don't keep my hard bags on the bike, but I do carry a laptop to work. I bought a trashed hard bag that still had the mounting points intact. I cut unnecassary parts off and grafted a laptop case to it. Its nice and narrow, goes on and off in seconds. I just carry the whole thing in. when I get to my destination.

Case Logic has some awesome little cases. I have the smallest Dell available (which I bought simultaneously to the FJR for convenience) and I bought their neoprene case that is just smaller than what they recommend and it is perfect. It's Cerulean Silver. :D When I want to carry my 17" HP, I use the Back pack but have been considering strapping the pack to the back seat with bungies.

Try this sight for laptop tank bags, its seems a good solution.

Hmmm... This sounds like something that I would be very interested in doing. Great idea RM! Just have to paint it blue, because blue is the fastest color, even for RAM.

:D

I have a Dell Inspiron 700m. It is the "traveler" that started it all for Dell. I too found that most bags are too large for the thing. I do have a bag, unfortunately I do not have it with me at the momoent so I can't give you a brand, but it is a simple bag with one pocket designed to fit an older non-widescreen laptop and it fits my computer perfectly side to side and only leaves room at the back of the laptop, which is fine as I have an extended battery that protrudes and I don't have to worry about it.

When I have taken my computer with me (i.e. when I was still in college) I just used a laptop back pack as others have mentioned. I used a targus bag that cost me about $50 at Office Max and was nice because it had a strap around the waist with a clasp in front to keep the bag from bouncing.

I have also seen at sportbikeluggage.com a tank bag that is specific for a laptop and even locks! I have been looking at these bags as they attach via the bolts for the gas cap and don't come in contact with the paint anywhere.
