What would DoG do?
Since the bee incident, my allergist recommended I start desensitizing treatments. Yesterday, as fate would have it Brenda met me for lunch at the allergy clinic. I get one shot, then wait thirty minutes, get a second shot, wait thirty more, then leave. Brenda decided to stay and visit with me while I waited after the second shot. Fifteen minutes into it, I start to feel really hot and Brenda said my faced turned beet red. I looked down and my palms were red also. I tell the desk lady, go in the back to a treatment room, then before I know it I'm doing all I can to not shit myself, vomit and pass out at the same time. My BP dropped to 80/40 before they got the reaction turned around, then they called in the EMS pros, who whisked me off to the ER for another four hours of observation. At least I know that the stuff in my reaction kit will save me if I need it.
The bad part is that the doc wouldn't let me go back and pick up my FJR from in front of his clinic where I left it, so I had to have a friend drive it home while I was in the ER. Happy ending, it was waiting for me upon arrival back at home, ready for today's ride to work and tomorrow's ride to San Diego.
