Greetings all techies,

Just upgraded from the Garmin C-330 (Suzy) to the Nuvi 780 (Suzy 2). Quite impressive. Runs through my Autocom AVI Pro. I've come across an issue though. Although receiving Bluetooth phone calls while riding is clear, the listener struggles to hear me. From background noise to sounding extremely distant, the listener struggles to make out what I say. This does not seem to be the case when the engine is shut off.

I'm assuming it's picking up the Alternator frequency and jack-ing up the sound going out. Any advice on a noise suppressor or other options?

Sounds to me like you have an issue with either mic placement, wind noise coming into the helmet, or a settings issue somewhere. Alternator noise normally manifests itself as a whine that varies in pitch relative to engine speed.

Have you tried the phone directly into the Autocm, bypassing the GPS? If that works, I would look at settings on either the phone, GPS and/or the Autocom, but it doesn't sound to me like the bike is causing the problem. (Of course, it wouldn't be the first time I'd be wrong!).

As for noise suppressors, most auto parts stores carry various filters, suppressors and ground loop isolators etc., but I'm not convinced they would help in this case.
