OEM heat shield for Gen 2 bike

I bought the heat shield from Yamaha for a Gen II bike when I had my 2005 but never installed it. Its new and in the package.

Or any air cooled bike for that matter.

Gotta admit I made a few bucks selling insulation blankets to children who thought these bikes were too hot.

I must not be a child cause I never put it on.

Say what you will but a Gen 1 on a 100 plus temp day gets freakin hot. I used to stop and fill my tank with gas just to cool down the gas tank.

I think this is what he's referring to:

It's an insulation cover that goes under the gas tank. I purchased one for my Gen 2. I'm coming from an original Concours. The C-10 re-defines heat.

He said he bought a Gen II heat shield from Yamaha, so I'm guessing he actually has the GEN II OEM shield. The aftermarket bubble wrap insulation costs $35 directly from Spdzn who makes it.

Yes it is the factory heat shield for under the gas tank. Im pretty sure it was over 100 dollars. I believe it is sold.
