Off the FJ09 and back on the 05 FJR

Jan 2014 I added a FZ09 to the stable. I changed that to a FJ09 in 2015. With elec throttle, I installed cruise control and added 26,600 miles to the FJ the first year and only 2.000 miles on the 05 FJR. Forward to July 2021, the FJ developed a valve issue and was moved to the back of the garage with 105,558 miles on the meter. I finished this year with the most miles put on the FJR since 2015, but only a measly 7,020 miles, largely due to the Pandemic. I put 143, 331 miles on my first 05 FJR, and my current 05 is number 2, which has around 95,000 miles on it. I had to move the old dash with 143,443 to No. 2, so it now shows 200,601 miles. But is really 95K.

I’ve reached 132.000 mostly trouble-free miles (on top of the 50k when I bought it), though the bags and bodywork show the results of a close encounter with a gravel road in northern Saskatchewan. My ‘05 won’t win any beauty contests, but with a Russell Daylong saddle I know there are a lot more happy miles ahead!

Nice looking ride - I currently have a 2016 (purchased used a year ago) with just over 40,000 but I had a 2014 that I put on 105,000 in 38 months with never a problem - love these FJR's.

When first done, I thought they were pretty awesome, but they have taken a beating and have faded quite a bit.
