Offical thank you thread for Beamer Reamer & Mrs. for our Tech Day

Just wanted to start a thread to say thanks to our hosts for today's kick-a$$ tech day.

HUGE thanks to BeamerReamer, Hudson, AuburnFJR, Neihart, Escapefjrtist, Jay, and everyone else who pitched in to help me get a LOT of work done on my FJR today, too.

Simply great to see our Conn. Brother on his way through town, too!

Excellent day, great food, awesome folks and interesting conversations. Another most-excellent Tech Day in the PNW.

Only took a few pictures - will post later, and I'm sure others will post, too.

A big thank you to Daivd and Colleen for hosting the spider extermanation day, I had a great time and I was not the last one working on my bike this time and was able to help others. My friend Vinnie had a great time also he really wants an FJR now.

Great day when you can work on other folks bikes to iron out the bugs first... Saw a couple different ways to take care of 'dem spiders...need to evaluate and see if I want to tackle the job. Got to meet CT FJR on his cross country trek and point him to some terrific PNW roads.

Great to see everyone and help out on various projects. I love how this crew looks out for each other during tech day, and was happy I could actually provide some assistance, instead of the usual other way around.

Now let's pray for some dry weather soon.

I'll echo Dave's sentiment and express gratitude to Dave (Hudson) for taking time to help me get sorted yesterday.

After about 6+ hours of being bent over my stripped down FJR, I was ready to throw in the towel. My back was sore, I was tired and was ready to just button things up and head home asap. While I was off getting some water, Hudson took the time to give my bike an eyeballing, and noted a few wires that needed zip-tying. I had cycled the steering lock-to-lock and felt I could live with the movement, until I could find time to clean them up.

Hudson gamely dove in and started with the zip ties. An hour or so later, a few minutes late at the dinner table, he'd accomplished the task and we both felt much better for the invested time.

I am grateful for his time invested in making my ride a bit safer. Thanks Dave.

...and I'll say thanks to George for the button-up help he gave me. I thought the reassembly would take hours. George had me on track and pitched in himself and we were done in minutes! As well, he noted the location of the one left over plastic mounting screw behind a side plastic. Job done, no left over parts!

A big Connecticut hello & thank you all!

I made it back fine. The tech day was certainly one of the big highlights of my ride and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone.

Special thanks to (and I hope I get these names right and apologize to anyone I miss);

Niehart for the oil filter

Dave for the oil

escapefjrtist (and others whose names have fallen victim to brain decay) for the great road suggestions in Washington

all the riders for sharing their farkles

and a very big thank you to Dave & Colleen for their generous hospitality.

Needless to say if any of you guys are in the neighborhood give me a call. I can't promise you roads like you have there but we can zip up through western CT into MA and Vermont for a good days' ride. Kind of like riding all of CA OR & WA in one day

I haven't even finished inloading the bike yet, but when I get the camera off I will upload a pix the 'gasoline alley' gang and change my map :yahoo: .

btw for those interested I now have about 9K miles on the PR2's and other than a small flat spot in the center (no big surprise here) they have a lot of life left in them! The hottest weather I hit all trip was the last 4 hours in NY & CT - temps were in the 90's.
