The reports of MNFJR05's demise are vastly lacking in fact and evidence. It's been quite a while since I have posted or even clicked around this place. Just like coming back home from a long trip away. Hopefully I will have something useful to contribute here in the future. I am going to have to talk to management to see if I can get my handle changed here as I was able to reach escape velocity from People's Socialist Gulag of Minnesota and Dear Leader Tim Jong Walz on the 17th of December. Free at last, finally free at last!

My absence of the past few years has been related to myriad of causes, namely family and building our Ark on the Colorado Plateau in the Great State of Utah! Riding will become a 11 month and possible year-round riding activity for me. 30 years of planning, saving and building have allowed us to build our retirement home where we wake up to fabulous views every morning. I have attached a couple of pics below. To all my forum friends I hope you look me up whenever you are in Moab. I shall keep a few cold ones in the cooler at all times for guests.

In my absence from the Forum I have become a grandfather to Oliver, lost my mother, watched my son(some of you may remember Jack at NAFO in Montrose) graduate from IA State as an Mech. Engineer, start his own company and at the same time begin work for P&G. Linda and I feel blessed that we were able to go 2 for 2 on raising our kids. Anybody knowing be personally knows that was a tall order for me...not so much my wife.

I am still riding my 2013.5 as the events of life have seriously impacted my riding recently and I have not piled up the miles on it recently. Still under 100K miles...so a little service and I am good to go. With no plans at present I look forward to days of riding this summer. I am finally in part of the country that has been tugging at my soul since my first trip out here as a kid on family vacation. I look forward to being active on the forum and seeing many of you at events around the country once again.

I'm back!

Good to see you back and still riding. Congrats to Jack--remember him from Montrose too. Great area and great riding around Moab, the new place and the view look gorgeous. Life is good.

Just got back myself! Thinking I should drag the FJR to the shop and have them change, well, every fluid....

Absolutely perfect...until the next grand kid comes along and accuses "Papa" of playing favorites...but...Oliver calls me "PapaUtah"...so...can we make it "PapaUtah"?

Great to hear from you! Happy to hear all is well in your world. That is a beautiful house, I can't wait to come and see it!

It took a few hours of work but the FJR is ready to go again. Oil changed, fork oil changed, brakes purged, new shoes, seat mink oiled, and an hour of hot soapy water to get the crude off it. I completed the front brake switch recall myself. That was the worst task of all. Now I need to get past the storm moving through this week and then I can't wait to get riding again. Looks pretty good for being 9 years old.
