don't use a new "crush" washer which isn't really a crush washer. It's just a flat aluminum washer. Replace only as necessary.
nope, definitely is a crush washer which crushes when tightened upon

Hmmm... got me wondering... Gen 1 thing? It's not what came on the '07. Mine is a flat aluminum washer, similar to what's on Hondas and Suzi's. Next time I stop at a Yammy dealer, I'll ask for a 214-11198-01-00. Fische says it's a "gasket". If it is a crush washer, I'll stick to the aluminum flats.

Edit - Rear pumpkin takes same washer. Torque spec there is 17 ft. lbs.
