Yeah Boeing hires a lot of folks but moi is a voice of reason and born and raised in the State of Washington.

As a newbie here, I had the same question, but quickly saw asking it wasn't a very good idea. I read, I looked at charts. I learned more about oil than I ever wanted too.

Then I bought Rotella T6. Walmart, Advance Auto....etc...

free tip: Don't ask about oil filters either.

The FJR has been around since 2002 and with only 3 major redo's and a few updates most NEPRT was posted long ago. Like you I learned quickly to look before asking.

My first guess, but haven't found any overt evidence. I thinkt he's a refugee ZX6 owner proud that he now has a "LEADER BIKE"....by 298 cc's! Regardless, I think he should get a little NEPRT dog-piling love to make him feel at home.

Could be the same dude. Had a whopping 2 posts on that forum and hasn't been active since July '09. OTOH he did register there with an email and phone # so you never know.

I wouldn't mind riding a leader bike, but then all the pervs like, Bust, Beemerdons , Howie, Odot, and SPU spend all day trying to look at my ass. It's very distracting.

It seems to me that a common question, especially from someone new to the FJR world or to this forum, would be about the 'best' oil to use in their machine. Just because some of the old-timers have beat the oil discussion to death, doesn't mean that the question is not reasonable or doesn't require a considerate answer. Unless you've been in the 'oil discussion' before in these forums, you've no way of knowing that some members on here actually appear to be offended (or pretend to be so) by someone bringing up the topic.
To me, the 'offended response', is just bad etiquette at best.
This is a great forum and a number one source of information but this seems to happen often.

Better idea; if you are not answering in offering a useful reply, why not just either keep rude comments to yourself or better yet, refer the inquirer to the area on the forums where his/her question is answered?
Just an observation.
