Don't over tighten the drain plug (there's a search for you).

^^^^ Take out the screw and move the tin-foil wrapped plastic away from the filter. Use a short wooden dowel to hold it out until you're done!

Actually I use the allen wrench that I used on the screw/bolt to hold the plastic out.
