Where is oil comming from?

Never thought about engine oil pushing up from stator. Could be the problem.

There's a lot more pressure in crankcase. Could easily push it up harness.

Rectifier is mounted low enough that it won't drain back. Gravity.

WHO KNOWS?

Schleep tight, oil has a huge resistance to conductance factor. Well heck, Yamaha runs the rotor in engine oil.
Interesting topic, still part of me that wants to fix it although I suppose its not broken. This has great potential for messing with the new guys on oil change threads

Yes.....how to get all the old oil out of the wiring harness will become quit an issue.

I have heard that synthetic oil is much more prone to wick thru the harness than conventional oil........

I just couldn't help myself.... :yahoo:
