NEVER MIND: did a search and seems like this is pretty normal.

Riding in to work this morning, I hit about 55mph, cruise for a bit and the oil pressure light comes ON.

I pull over, switch off the bike, then start up again. the light stays OFF for the remaining 1.5 miles to work.

When I park I put the bike on the centerstand and check the oil level, which is about 3/4 of the way up the view glass. I looked carefully for leaks, none at all.

I'm supposed to head off for about 1.5 hour drive out of town, isolated road, and am a bit nervous.

Anything thoughts?

Thanks

First things first, it's not a pressure light... It's an oil level light. Which generally kicks off at around 3 quarts.

Double check your level, if you've got plenty in the site glass, I wouldn't worry too much.

You might have a fault in the wiring...

Yep, I knew it was a level light, but sometime the old brain dries up for awhile.

I'll double check the oil level.

My R1 is very sensitive to oil level; if it's just a tiny bit below full on the sight glass, the light will come on. I would say keep it topped off and you'll nothing to worry about.

Not with amsoil as it mulches metal slivers up by it's anti-corrosive qualities. These in turn add to the lubability of the oil or shall I say.....lubricity.

The oil light on the Moto Guzzi Norge was an oil pressure light. Moto Guzzi offers opaque stickers that you can put over the flickering light in case a flickering oil light bothers you.
