Okay, my question: what if you lose the flashdrive?
Wouldn't it be easier to store it on some obscure website host somewhere - fully accessible from any location?

You can create a dummy site that isn't worth stopping at, and access zip files, etc from the locations only known to you.

You can even name them innocently in case someone accesses the directory to look for some stuff that would end up looking totally lame.

Otherwise known as "security through obscurity." Never a good idea.

Beside hardware encryption, Ironkey can also be used for 2-factor securID authentication on Verisign sites such as eBay, Paypal and others. Once enabled on the sites that support it (go to Verisign for a complete list), nobody can log in to your accounts without physically plugging in the Ironkey.

I forgot to add: beside those functions, I use my Ironkey whenever I use a public Wifi. I can establish a secure encrypted connection to a private Ironkey server so everything I do on a public open Wifi stays private by going thru tunnels.
