I'm looking to pick up a service manual for my FJR, checking on eBay as you'd expect there are mostly the cheap (pirated) CD-ROM manuals, but amongst all these is what sure appears to be an official OEM manual, I don't want to link to the eBay option because I don't want to risk violating the rules here but here is the picture that's attached to the auction:

Now I've read of a problem with some of the official service manuals, that the ones with the white covers don't have all the same information as the ones with the blue covers even though they have the same part number.

What do you guys think?

The part # on the bottom right of the cover is the number that comes up on Yamaha's publications purchase site. So that's the manual.

I'd not heard of any blue-cover/white-cover stuff. I do know that the service manuals are not really how-to books, but step lists given on the assumption that the reader has had training. In other words, remove this, then remove that, then check that, but no word on how to remove this and this or how to check that. You won't find the step-by-step directions that you find in something like an automotive Haynes manual, but you do get all the torque specs, and electrical diagram, and descriptions of systems with T/S checklists.

I just bought one used but in great shape off Ebay. It has a white cover and Yamaha part number. Judging from the quality and binding, Im confident it's the real deal.
