Hi. Lester here. I’m 78 and have been riding for 63 years. I’m on my second FJR (2013). I also have a 2019 BMW K1600, a Dyna Superglide, and a Suzuki DR650. I like the FJR1300 best because of its weight and handling. It is also easier to pick up than the BMW. I added the ST2 brake light modulator and turn signal canceler. I also relocated the battery for easier access. Be safe. I’ve seen a lot of crazies over the years but there are more now than usual.

I do not recommend moving the battery. The Yamaha engineers are very smart. I moved mine because I have trouble using my hands due to arthritis. I moved the battery to the space below the seat. I 3-D printed a fake battery to fill the void where the battery was originally located. This was necessary to support the electrical components.
