We'll I bought an 04 (genI) with 34k miles for 6,000.00..An 06 (Gen II) has some upgrades like the air flow managment system which directs the heat away from the rider... take that into consideration when setteling on a price... I would not pay no more that 8k....

is it stock or does it have a few farkles? i bought my '05 for $8800...7400 miles and bone stock. now that i think about it the kind fella threw in a helmet, a real nice yamaha riding jacket, a pair of joe rocket gloves, and a small tank bag. the helmet was too big so i gave to one of my big headed friends..LOL

2300 miles is just barely broken in. 10k is still a bargain for that bike with so few miles on it............IMHO

I paid $8k for my 2006 with 2600 miles, a trunk bag and a M/C Cruise control installed. That said, I got a great deal and most that I saw were closer to $10k. Good Luck.

I would say 10K

After my wreck this month, Insurance gave me a value of 11k for my 06 with 18,000 on it for a stock bike

Just how new to the 'bike scene' are you?

A 140+ horsepower sport-tourer would not be my first recommendation, for a new rider. They are quite expensive to break, even in minor mishaps. Bones and brains can cost even more.

its been 10 years since i rode much but i wont be in much more danger than i would be on a much smaller bike 70 mph is 70 no matter what you come off of. And im still looking for a little more feedback on price if anyone has anything to offer I am thinking the owner will sell for no less than 8500 and that is pushing my luck what do you think.

Another thing to consider is does the bike have YES (Yamaha Extended Service) . That can give you up to 4 additional years of factory warranty.

Which model are you looking at? A or AE? I assume A, but not positive.

I just purchased an 06 AE with 4500 miles and extras such as Power Commander, electronic cruise, and smuggler for $10K.

Interesting outlook.

Good luck with your purchase

It's not the 70mph that's the problem; it's how fast you get to 70mph, and your ability to control the bike.

In any event, if you're already a reasonably experienced rider, it doesn't matter. 'New to the bike scene' sounded like you weren't, so it's my misunderstanding.

$8,500 for an '06 with only 2,300miles sounds like a pretty good deal, to me.

Sounds like an exceptional deal, actually.

$8,500 for bone stock '06 with those low miles sounds great! Even with the small scratch.

enough with the pricing already! Quit stalling and go buy it. 8500 is a great price. More than fair..............

I have the money ready and im waiting on the owner to return from a buisness trip but we havent settled on a price yet but it will be 9000 or less. He seemed content with something in the middle 8 range. He did say he has to make a call to a friend to make sure he doesnt want it before he sells to me. He says he will know tomarrow and i will wait. When and if i buy it I will post pics this bike is just like new.
