Also a Bela Fleck fan! Great videos from everyone! More Cowbell was perfect!

A couple of years ago Leo Kottke visited my office (he's a personal friend of our VP). I got to sit across the conference table from him while he played several tunes from his "One Guitar, No Vocals" CD. Awesome to see one guy play lead, rhythm and bass on one guitar simultaneously!

Had a similar experience in the presence of Phil Keaggy. Another awesome guitar master.

Very cool.
Check this guy out, I have 2 of his albums which are very good. Different style, but there are a lot of similarities. Many of the songs have a hint of classical music, but some are upbeat too.

Also check out Keller Williams, he is awesome too. He is a bit more.... funky/weird, but also big on accoustic.

His shows are so cool because he uses a foot pedal to sample and loop a rif, then he picks up a different instrument and builds on it. I've seen him live and it's a fun concert.
I really liked those links - GREAT STUFF.

Too, somebody put a lot of thought into the acoustics for the room that Andy McKee plays "Drifting" in. The wood gives it quite a bit of brightness, and the perforations allow some reverb and bass to come through. Nice!

Thanks for sending the links! The Guy named Andy Mckee was my favorite!

This is one of my favorite U-Tube musical videos, and I hope that the harmonica doesn't ruin the acoustical theme of this thread?

For those that don't know, my "handle" is a reference to playing bass. Bela Fleck and the Flecktones are my favorites. I also build my own basses, and the first bass I build is signed by Bela Fleck and Edgar Meyer. Sat next to Edgar's mom in the front row at his "home" performance in Knoxville. We've seen them many times over the years, and have tickets for the middle performance of the 3 with the Portland Symphony Orchestra next month.

Anyone else going to the show?!?

Thanks to all of you. I've been sitting here enjoying this music. It kinda reminds me of days long ago, witting with friends...in an "altered state of consciousness"...playing and singing...WISHING we were that good!

I love the song "One WInter's Night". Its really haunting in a John Denveresque (Fly Away) way.

This has been good for my soul!!!

That was great. Thanks Ari. How nice it would be to be able to play an instrument like that. I can't play anything and am in admiration of anyone who can. When I see anything like this, particularly live, I stand mesmirised.

Just started working my way backwards through the posts. The Buddy Green harmonica is pure genius made me want to applaud sat in my arm chair.

Try this:

Hey all,

If you are fans of players like Sam Bush, I would strongly suggest you check out Woodsongs Old Time Radio Hour to satisfy your musical thirst. My personal favorite is video #199 (Chris Thile with Bryan Sutton). Great stuff.

Cheers,

-Brian
