Ok my computer geek bretheren - Ordering traditional prints from digital camera photos.

Ain't never done it. I know there is a plethora of companies/websites out there that do it. So which one should I use?

Help a poor brudda out here. TIA!

I use Wolf Camera/Ritz and have very good results. Upload the pictures and you can either have them shipped to you or go pick them up within 1 hour.

Good Luck!

Get a photo printer (cheap) adn do them yourself - no problemo
Printers are cheap, it's the ink cartridges that'll break the bank. :angry2:
Get one with individual ink tanks. I've go a Canon 860, the colored tanks (4) are like $5.00 per, and it has two black tanks. So IMHO - a printer with indiviual ink tanks is the way to go.

Plus I believe ALL color pictures fade over time, regardless of professional or home produced. The newer generations of ink holds up pretty well from my experiece.

And the good paper isn't cheap as well. CVS/Walgreens is what I use for photos. Unless I only need a couple then I use my HP Photosmart 385. Nice quality but it uses ink fast and the good photo paper costs.

If you only want proofs do it yourself on a printer, they're pretty good now. If you want them professional, go to Tempe Camera, they're on the corner of University and Roosevelt. (near Mill). I have always taken my 'good' stuff there to be printed. They have professional services available. They are also one of the only places in the Valley that will do slides in-house. Usually in a couple of hours. https://www.tempecamera.com/

I am very picky about the quality of photos that I get printed. I have tried many and ended up using COSTCO. I use them for proofs and for those that would not notice the things that I get picky about. They seem to always have the color right and they are sharp. The best part is that I can email them from home in any size file I want and the pick up the pictures next time I am in town.
