Until March 1st - think the 06's will be delivered at the beginning of the month or the end?

Not to get your hopes up, but Renaa at D&H hinted that some might even come in earlier than that. Given the way Yamaha is ANAL about dates, and never seems to do anything early, I'm not getting my hopes up.

Oh well, I have a pretty sweet '04 to ride the crap out of in the mean time. Maybe get a few more miles in before old man winter sets in.

I wasn't a waiter the first time around, but now I am. Give me a month or two, and I'll bet I start getting antsy anyway. Heck, I'm already getting farkles ready to put on it!

Let's see...

Fenda Extenda

FJRandy harness and horns.

Jastec outlets.

Fused barrier strip.

LED license plate aux brake light.

Hmmm... guess there's some stuff that's just going to have to wait.

New grips might be hard. Going to be tough doing surgery to separate the grip from the heat pads without mucking that up. I hope the heat mechanism isn''t integrated into the grip itself?!?

Radiator guard? Well, mine will fit, but the stainless fabbed ones won't. Guess it's curved.

Risers? Bet the bolt pattern is different. Ok, supposed to be more ergonomic all around, but we'll see about that.

Yep, I got it bad. Waiting to hear from Renaa about my PDP order.

Oh, no make it stop!....not another interminable thread about projected delivery dates! Please move to 'pointless threads' before I lose the rest of my hair! :dribble:

You do know that the '06 model comes with a radiator guard right from the factory, don't you? It is not as tightly woven as many of the common guards we've seen, such as the Cox guard, for example, but still....

i was just happy to see that my check was deposited on 10/7/05 by d&h... if anybody can be trusted to be upfront and honest, it seems to be d&h, based on forum repots...

Warchild,

No, did not notice factory guard. Looks like a feller could stuff a slightly finer SS wire screen behind it to make it finer.

Can you hear the engineers screaming all the way from Japan? 'We worked hard to get the heat controlled and now you want to cut airflow across the radiator?

Makes me grin just thinking of it..

Warchild, no, I sure didn't know about the "guard". Not real impressive as far as protection goes. Heck, the size of that thing is only going to keep HUGE debris from causing any damage.

Well, I have to admit, that since I put on my Fenda Extenda, I really haven't had anything ding up my soft aluminum radiator "filter", so the '06 factory guard will probably be adequate with the FE installed.

At least its coming with one this year. And I bet it would be relatively simple to attach some finer metallic mesh of some sort to the factory guard.

Where's Warchild's rad guard how to?
