I couldn't help sharing/bragging!
I live in San Diego, and as you all know our neighboring city’s youth (Chula Vista) have captured the prestigious title of "Worlds Best"!!! Of course I am talking about the "Little League World Champions" from Chula Vista CA.
For those of you that have not experienced the excitement and thrill of witnessing some of your own get to this level of expertise in their filed of endeavor it is truly awe inspiring…These kids got more local and national TV viewers/coverage than our local professional baseball team. How cool was that? Of course unfortunately they are not competing for our attention with anyone but the Padres and the Padres suck right now!! But, I would like to think that even if our local pro’s were on top of their game the fan base would not have changed. These kids can really play the game of baseball, in all aspects of the game….
All that said, Chula Vista is abuzz with a sense of pride and gratitude for our youth programs, and volunteers that take the time to mentor our children to achieve such a level of self assurance, confidence and personal growth. Although I never got to this level, the last time this happened here was in 1961 when I was playing in little league.. This is life changing for these kids, and will forever be something they will take with them to share with their grand children. Congratulations “Blue Bombers!!!”
