Ontario colour ride

FJRRob and I met each other at EOM and promised each other we'd get together for one more ride before the snow flys. So, we've decided to meet in the middle between us in Parry Sound this coming Saturday to enjoy the fall colours. Thiers some great riding in the area and the leaves were about 60% when I came through there last Wed on the way home from EOM.

We'd thought we'd extend the invite to all other Ontario branded frostbacks out there!

Long range is calling for mid-teens and sunny. I'm guessing were going to at least ride over Lake Rosseau on hwy 141 (very scenic and fun). I'm guessing were going to meet at the Whitfield Inn on Oastler Park Rd (old Hwy 69). Nice spot, great view and good food.

I've sent an email to a couple of local FJR Riders up here (not just for FJR's!) to see if they can make it.

We'll do at least one of those highways for sure, 518 is a great road too, but last I heard back in July, they were doing some construction on it. We'll have to ask and see. I imagine time/temp is going to be concern. Short days and the temps drop faster than the sun!

however a warning on the 518

I came down the 518 for the sports bike rally, it was beaten to crap, the roughest piece of road I have ever ridden on, surface consisted of rocks the size of baseballs.

You had better check the construction reports before going down that road. When they pave it will be a beaut

Think last week was are Indian summer... naw... still some more rides, just fewer and fewer till the PMS sets in.

Lets just play it by ear. I've been known get a sudden 24 hr flu this time of year.

IF I didn't have to shlep the kids around and IF the weather were to be warmer, I'd be there. In fact, my GF is from Port and her parents still live there.

Whoa.. your almost as bad as we used to be. Travelling from T.O to our camp just North East of Sudbury. I'm about 2 hrs from Mattawa - Ever ride 533? Looks tasty on a map, but I bet its rough as ****.

Been a few years since I was on it, but last time it was really rough. They were using it for logging trucks and it was falling apart.

It was interesting and scary seeing the black rubber marks on ALL the steel guardrails on every corner.
