Please read The Pace linked here.

How interesting that on this ride to honor Andrew the link to this information is a post he made!

1.) When you come to this ride, I expect you to have read and understand what the author is trying to convey. I also expect you to respect other's "space" and safety by applying what Nick Ienatsch is saying. It works, folks, and works well if everyone takes a moment to think and apply until it becomes a good habit.

Stagger on the straights...single file in the twisties, 2-3 seconds spacing.

2.) Since I know the guy who is organizing this ride, I'd expect a safety lecture around 10:15 before we mount up.

It's been a year now, less a few days. It often seems a lot longer, but sometimes memories of riding with him seem like they were only a couple months ago. He got his '05 within a month of me getting mine, and at the time, we were living on opposite sides of the Sierras. I imagine everyone here was taken by the ride reports he used to put up -- the art, emotion, spirit in the pictures and narratives he'd post of rides. He raised the bar, and I think ride reports on this site got better from his influence. That pic you posted from the calendar, Richard; I think that trip's images are the ones that most transported me even though I wasn't on that ride with him. A true classic of a report, and that pic is classic Andrew. Like madmike, I can hardly ride by an old barn anymore and not remember Andrew.

I'm maybe more conflicted about his last day than I ever was, except to still know how sad it was and how much I and we had obviously missed. FWIW, there's a waterfall where he died, though it was dry that day. I've been by it a couple times recently. There are rocks underneath the water. But there's a sense of life and beauty in the water that flows over those rocks now -- like the part of him that he shared with us. Or at least, that's the way I choose to see it. I'll be thinking about him as we ride Saturday.

Weather Alert:

The forecast.....

Saturday: Cloudy with periods of light rain. High near 65F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 70%.

The roads will be clean...but there will be pine needles in the low spots and apexes. A good time to be really really smoooooth.

And it will certainly be understood if those coming some distance decide to NOT.

MM2 how about you picking a place to meet you whether it be in Sutter Creek or where ever in one of those small towns and I will be there.

It will be nice to see ya DC NIce of you to make a trip up north .

Do you still have that painters duct tape tank bag still on ?

Mike, saw same forcast on Yahoo Weather. But looked on NOAA National Weather and it predicted 20% Saturday but mostly cloudy, 30% Saturday night. And clear on Sunday. Didn't sound like much....PM. <>< :dntknw:

Hey George,

I'm leaving at 0500 Saturday, will stop and get breakfast on the road somewhere. Sunup is approx 0545, so only a little darkness to ride through.

If you want to leave that early, we can hook up near Shandon or something!

Don
