TEN PREDICTIONS FOR THE FJR'S FUTURE!!!!

1. Thanks to the sales of the 2006 Auto-shift models, starting in 2007 Yamaha charges "extra" for a clutch lever & standard shift on the 2007 models. Average age of 2007 FJR buyer is 67. Yamaha goes after the Goldwing market share and boasts, "Goldwing riders will seriously consider the FJR as their next bike."

2. 2008 FJR's come out with big wide seats which pushes the FJR into a totally new category which the bike magazines dub "The HYPER-SCOOTER!"

3. 2009 - Motorcyclist Magazine holds Hyper-Scooter shoot-out!!! Compares the '09 FJR to the Suzuki Max'ie Burgman Scooter, and the '09 FJR wins hands down!!

4. 2010 FJR's are introduced with fully automatic CVT transmissions! Yamaha's ad claims, "Messing manual shifting is a thing of the past!"

5. 2011 FJR's introduce retractable training wheels, which automatic come down at lower speeds! FJR sales go through the roof as thousands of grandmother's develop a keen interest in the FJR! AARP provides free advertising for Yamaha! Never has there been so many riders over the age of 85!

6. 2012 FJR introduces "LLABS" - Laser Linked Automatic Braking System! Rider has no control over the brakes. Bike stops at stop signs, lights, tolls booths, and in emergency conditions - automatically!!! Brake pedal and lever's are eliminated!

7. 2013 FJR's, working in combination with training wheel option introduced in 2011, Yamaha introduces an automatic steering/leaning option - by sensing the road ahead and applying the proper about of counter-steering! A fully incorporated Steering/GPS system controls point A to B destinations with pin-point accuracy! Yamaha boasts, "Very little rider interaction required!"

8. 2014 FJR's introduce Hybrid Technology! FJR fattens up to 980lbs, horsepower drops to 64 (combined electic and gas), resulting in an amazing 79mpg! Yamaha boasts, "The $27 per gallon gas prices are less of a concern to the 2014 FJR rider!"

9. 2015 FJR's introduces ASC (Automatic Speed Control). Rider no longer has to worry about speeding tickets!! The new FJR now senses posted speed limits and never exceeds those speeds! Yamaha boasts, "Full integration of past options come into play with the 2015 model.... thanks to; auto-braking introduced in 2012, auto-counter steering introduced in 2013, and now Automatic Speed Control in 2015, the rider only has to; dial in his/her destination and hold on! And no need to worry about that messy throttle control either... it has been eliminated!"

10. 2016 - Yamaha comes out with a 4-wheel FJR, named "The Cage".

(Pssst, I'll be the one passing by, shifting on my old 2005 model!) ;)

Don't forget to consider the 11th possible outcome.

By 2027 Yamaha will merge with Cyberdyne Systems and incorporate

an 800 series model 101 cyborg to do all the shopping and other mundane

chores since you'll be too old to drive/ride anyway.

Giving new meaning to the phrase:

"I'll be back"

:p
