Running around rural E. Oregon I would not pass a gas station. Restaurants can be a little scarce but most of the taverns serve food.

I am carrying a few MSR fuel bottles for SportsGuy and I this weekend, just in case, and we are gassing up where we can. Agree on the fuel situation.

Be sure to carry 'em upright, Dave. Those suckers can leak. I'd say DAMHIK, but I suppose it's obvious.

After that experience, I decided I'll carry a long plastic tube and hope for a generous donor if I need it. AND not passing gas stations, of course.

Make sure the o-rings are fresh and I never had a leak.

You are making too much out of the gas issue. Post you routes, max miles on a tank of gas and I will ID your gas stops.
Agree...finding gas for a FJR in central Oregon is not a problem (or for any other bike with a 175-200 mile range) although premium gas can be hard to find.
