This is a set of the Oxford "Premium Touring" version of the Heaterz heated grips. I bought them, and want to use them, but can't, for reasons explained below. I opened them, investigated the installation, read the instructions, then put them back in the box.
These are the newest version, with what they say is thicker rubber in the wear zones, and a special pattern for vibration absorption. The ends are open, to allow bar-end weights. The controller is adjustable to five heat settings, but this version will automatically turn the grips off if you forget to (by sensing the running engine). That way, you don't need a relay (and space to install it), and you won't accidentally kill your battery. There is a bracket included to mount the controller to the mirror perch. The wiring harness is plug & play, and includes a 5A fuse.
The grips are 120mm long, which appears maybe 10mm shorter than the OE grips. My plan was to cut a donut from an old grip to take up the extra length. The reviews for these are pretty uniformly positive, which is why I bought them. The reason I have decided not to install them is this: I have installed a G2 throttle tube. That tube has a knurled section in the middle that's raised by a fraction of a millimeter. Because the inner tube of the Heaterz is a firm plastic, it won't go over the knurl; at least not without more oomph than I want to apply, and I'd rather not grind down the G2 tube.
So: These sell for $89.95. Some vendors charge shipping. I bought at retail, so there was tax. I'll ship to you for $67, all in; I'd just ask that you pick up the PayPal fees. I can shoot pix and email them to you if you want them. PM with any questions!
