I have been searching for an hour and cannot find the yamaha paint codes for the 2004 FJR. I know they are here someplace. Anyone know what they are?

Actually, you're forgiven. The only thread I could find was hiding in a Post Pool I'm still working to bring back en masse.

In the meantime, try this restored thread. I saw a PPG Deltron BC/CC formula at least.

Added this to the '03-'05 Bin-O-Facts too.

Ask, and ye shall..... :p

Are the paint codes for the 06 known?
Try here. If you get a solid code since you're an '06 owner with a serious personal investment in getting the shade right, please shoot a PM to Rickster that does the '06 Bin-O-Facts thread with the results.

Thanks for the leads.

OK so does anyone know if this colorrite color actually matches the 2004 FJR Curilean silver?

Yamaha 0820 Bluish Silver #4 (BS4)

5800-2

Ok... I figure you mean after attempting results, not quoting what's in the thread you pointed me to.

I need the info and will pass on the thread info to my body guy.

You may have worked it out by now but Yamaha are a bit coy about their colours.

The first time I heard of Yamaha Bluish Silver #4 (BS4) was when i phoned Yamaha customer enquiries, gave them my VIN # and asked what the colour was. They looked it up on their computer and it came out Yamaha Bluish Silver #4 (BS4). You won't find any such number on the bike and Yamaha do not supply paint, they will just refer you to a paint supplier.

Get your VIN and use the phone.

Rickster said he's putting the 06 codes in the BinOFacts. You can go here, Codes for the codes for all years from ColorRite. PM. <>< :)

The guy who is painting my bike parts says (deleted). I'll let you know the results. I showed him Gerald's formula which was said to be a bit too dark and he said the reason is that there is no pearl in the formula. He also showed me the pearl he bought, list was $170 for about 10 oz., but enough to last him a long time.

I got my parts back from my painter last evening and he said the mix # I posted above is not right. It was way too dark. I have to pick up a bottle of touch up paint from him Monday night and he says he'll give me the info from the matching paint... I hope he isn't considering the match info a trade secret.

I've not looked at my parts since last evening in the gathering dark, but the match looked real good and the surface quality was teriffic. I hope the match looks as good in other lighting conditions.

EDIT: Daylight now and the color match still looks great. I sure hope I can get the info from the painter. He charged me $200 for doing one bag and the same side's rearview mirror. Not a bad price based on what others have paid.

BTW, I was searching and found this too-dark color mis-match for the pre-06 Galaxy Blue: "Technically Duplicolor doesnt make a color match for the 2005 FJR, but the TY01612 Toyota Stellar Blue is a damn close match." I therefore wonder if that color would look ok for scratches or even large areas of an '06?
