has anyone found a duplicate or something close to the silver wheel paint. is the frame color and wheel color the same? i don't need to purchase expensive "colorite" paint. this is on a 2006 fjr.

yea JoJo, it is Dupli-Color High Performance Wheel Coating[spray].... sold at pep boys, discount auto, advance auto, wal-mart, etc ,,,, their silver is an exact match for my 03 fjr [ shade depends on the base or primer coat ].... also, buy the matching Clear Coat for maximum protection... have used this to paint the black windshield "W" and both Black wheels on my silver 03....now 3 years ago....... cost about $5 a spray can.....https://www.duplicolor.com/products/wheel.html

your welcome ! :)

oh Fjrski, your bin o facts ,,,,

thank's jonathan! this is jojo, that's what i wanted a reasonable color match, with a reasonable price. i have my own tire machine and the 1st time i did the fjr front wheel i didn't have it locked completely. just small rub mark's. next time wheel is off i'll paint them.

your welcome ! :)

My bad

Try this address

https://www.fjrforum.com/forum//index.php?s...;hl=bin-o-facts

Try the SEARCH function?

If you go to the ColorRite site it will list the silver wheel color.

(know you don't want to spend for this, but it answers the question about whether the light & dark silvers are the same).

Then if you go to the Bin-O-Facts you will find close alternates that others have used.

Close Alternates

Alternate for darker grey on engine (alternator cover, etc.): Dupli-Color E8800564, dark grey metallic. (thanks Dan23)

Alternate Indigo blue metallic NG GM 506 by Duplicolor is a pretty good match.

Alternate for Cobalt Blue (thanks garauld):

PPG Deltron 2000 BC/CC recipe #114042 (may be slightly darker)

PPG #114042 "Mystic Blue" match looks perfect to Dan23

I've been collecting paint info because I'm planning a custom paint job, adding some stripes to mask a parking lot tip-over. The paint job will cost more than replacement plastic (and a lot of people don't even see the scars till I point them out but they turn my stomach everytime I see them), so once I do the paint job, it will be my own. Sorry 'bout the dead link, just trying to be helpful, someday I'll learn how these confangled things work.
