Found a few (dozen) pics to add some more color to the trip!

Riding along the Fraser river is very similar to what we experience here. Transitioning from wet to dry and spectacular scenery along the way.

Muddy river flowing a lot of water.

As Kev and I were finishing breakfast at the Glacier Inn, we were greeted by a couple coming in. None other than Bluebullet and his lovely SO...such a small world we live in.

The fellow that took our picture told us that the area was expecting 4 to 5 inch of rain the next two days so we decided to beat feet. Remember the swollen rivers well we knew coming up that 97 was closed between Prince George and Dawson Creek but should be opened by the time we got back down. Not! We had to go home by going south east to Grande Prairie.

DSCN4127.jpg

Smell the rain?

DSCN4126.jpg

We were lucky really we beat the rain mostly, and that’s because we geared up!

The next day we headed for Jasper, BC thru Grande Cache and Hinton.

Day Seven Map.

BCDaySeven.jpg

No pictures as we got a good portion of that rain headed for Hinton.

Remember the Tour Master Rain Gear? It was fifty five degree’s when we left Grande Prairie so I didn’t put in my liners in my summer gear. So that fifty five turned into 39 to forty degree’s and the rain came side ways. Did I say wind? The Tour Master leaked!

When we got to Grande Cache it was time for fuel we filled up and went into the store, George saw me take off my rain coat and said “your wet” in his casual I’m glad I wore my winter gear way. So I put my liner in my coat put on a sweater.

This is when it gets funny, I have some of those Areostich three finger gloves that I had been wearing but really didn’t do much good as the water rand down inside the glove. No big deal I have another set of gloves so I ask George if he would mind zipping me up as I want to put the glove on before I put on the leaky rain gear. He looks around and agrees and as he zips me up the zipper breaks! The coat had a Velcro flap so that’s how I go back into the storm and we head for Hinton.

We stop for food in Hinton and it takes me a half hour to get undressed the floor looks like I dumped a five gallon bucket of water on it. Takes me another half hour to get dressed!

Oh by the way this ride is thru beautiful country, and plan on going back and hopefully see it when it’s not raining as it would have been a prefect ride with out the rain.

We headed for Jasper from Hinton thinking we would find a room but being penny pinchers the $200 a night was too much for George and me and we headed for Valemount BC to spend the night.

I gave George the choice of riding the Ice Field Parkway or heading home, he picked home.

DSCN4135.jpg

Got to Kamloops and asked George if he wanted to head south and find some twistys but the casual guy with the winter gear said “to hot” so we headed home.

For a freeway the Hwy Canadian 5 has great views and vistas and the speed limit is 110 K’s.

That’s it for pics, I know kind of long. But this is a must do ride folks! Get a good riding partner like I did and go, it’s well worth the time.

This report doesn’t talk about the other rider’s we meet the oil field folks we talked to Just a lot of good stuff!

Off to take the Spot Tracker back to Hudson and get a little Sunday morning ride in. The local crew and my wife enjoyed the spot it has a cool button that you push and it sends a text to let all know your in safe.

thanks for all the hard work posting them up. congrats on such a great trip!

Kinda kewl to see a glimpse of Dawson Creek canola. You guys rode right past my sister's place.

Kevin, nice to chat this morning. Your pix are completely awesome, and now I have to pretty much add Hyder to my list of places.

Totally great trip, wish I could have made it.

Outstanding pictures! Keep 'em coming :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:
+1, Gunny; Incredible Photos, Thank You!
Once again Kevin and George, a truly incredible Ride Report; Great pictures and Informative narratives, Excelente - Bravo!

But I do have one small question though, why didn't you drag Pops along on this most excellent adventure? I know from past experiences that it is a pain in the butt riding with Niehart: 1) The mandatory potty break every 45 minutes. 2) Having to search out a diner every hour and a half so he can have his pie fix. 3) The mid-day stop at a grocery store so he can pick up Metamucil, prune juice and bran flakes allowing him to stay regular. 4) His always asking you to pull his finger, then he farts. 5) Having to stop at Wal-Mart each evening before riding to the motel so Dave can buy more Depends.

But it would have been a nice gesture on your part if you would have checked DB out of the Woodinville Retirement Home and taken him North on a ride. Old Fogeys of Washington State and elsewhere need love and riding too!

Don, we tried but but he said no (he did call the morning we left and called me some sort of bastage or something)!

He went out this week to Montana with his Harley riding Depends tribe. I imagine the sheep are running for the hills right about now screaming. ;)

Very nice report of a great ride.My favorite road trip. You'll really like the big open spaces when you do your Alaskan Adventure.

What a great ride.

I only had time two years ago to do Hyderseek.

Here's a pic of the Bear on a nice day.

Thanks for your excellent report.
