Ron and all my other FJR Bro's,

"May you be in heaven half an hour before the devil knows you're dead!"

An Irish Blessing.

Rest in Peace my brother in Christ...

Man... and he just had the ride report from Alaska, which I enjoyed. God speed Ron. And God bless you Charlie for letting us know, and so soon after the tragedy.

Some of the long time members of this forum "knew" Ron Melton from his postings, and some had met him in person. I saw this posted on another board, posted by his son.

Quote:

This post is from Ron's oldest son Charlie.

My father loved you guys and always talked about his buddies on the message board and all the people he met with on his travels.

He died yesterday, July 11, 2006, in a freak railroad accident. He worked for the railroad in Memphis and was unknowingly hit by a car and died at the railroad before they could get him to the Med.

Your prayers and thoughts are appreciated.

The one thing my Father wanted for his life and for yours is that he could be a witness for Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior.

God Bless you all for what you have meant to him.

Sincerely,

Charlie Melton

I am stunned to hear of Ron's passing. My deepest condolences to Ron's family and friends. I had never met Ron, but I felt like I knew him through his posts here and especially from his recent trip to Alaska. He did something many of us want to do.

Rest in peace, Ron, and God bless.

I have the address for Ron's wife (Jan) as well as the funeral home info.
This is the first mention I can recall that he was married. Bummer. I wonder how she felt about him riding? His tat reminds me of one near and dear to my own heart....
