looks like Escort is busy replacing the older models. Still, a nice price for a good detector.

Costco has the 9500 ix for $329 on Black Friday. I have this in my truck. The GPS and self learning are great. I paid $500 for it about 3 or 4 years ago. Saved my a$$ on multiple occasions
Got my wife a 9500 a couple years ago...she has only gotten one ticket since...89 in a 65 zone

I have an 8500X, and usually run it on the bike.

It has become all but useless lately as more and more cars and trucks have active radar collision avoidance systems, lane warning, etc. These cars are all broadcasting radar signals in the K and Ka bands that the radar will alert you of, constantly. I've been stuck behind cars with active radar and it gets so annoying that after a while I just pull the power plug on the RD.

YMMV

Those bastards!

Thanks Fred, I'll pass. If you are dealing with that in NH, then surely here in the middle of the metromess it'd be worse.

Living in Metro Detroit and being in the automotive industry, I've had these discussions with friends that work on collision avoidance systems. It is my understanding that the FCC has dedicated them their own bandwidth and it should go into effect next year. The problem won't go away overnight but it should start to get better not worse.
